Taekwondo

Taekwondo is a contact sport were you kick people in the head or body. A kick to the body is worth 2 points and a kick to the head is worth 3. While it is uncommon you are allowed to punch and if it scores you would gain 1 point.

Taekwondo is a summer olympic sport. It debuted in the 1988 Seoul summer olympics in south Korea as a demonstrational sport and as been in the olympics ever since. It is now a medal sport.

A taekwondo match is 3 rounds each 2 minutes long. If 2 rounds have have passed and you are down by 20 points or more you automatically lose the match. This is known as point gap. If you get penalized 10 times you also lose the match.

Taekwondo is broken up into weight divisions. This makes sense because you don't want a fight with 2 people of completely different sizes.

Interestingly taekwondo has 2 third places. This is because taekwondo doesn't have a match to determine who gets third place.
